Anker Valley Primary Academy

Anker Valley Clubs

At Anker Valley Primary Academy, we run a range of enrichment activities both during the school day and after school. Our enrichment clubs at lunchtime and after school provide pupils with varied opportunities throughout the academic year to access fun, educational experiences.

We know how important it is for children to learn about active lifestyles and, in addition to their PE lessons, we provide all children with resources to support active break and lunch times as well as access to our trim trail and woodlands.  We also provide extra-curricular sports clubs for the children to supplement our PE curriculum, for example, yoga, dance, football (these vary term to term).

We conduct a booking systems and ensure that we offer after school opportunities for all pupils, from Reception to Year 6. When allocating spaces, priority is given to children who have not already enrolled in a club. Please be aware that some clubs are run by outside providers. This information will be indicated on the information sent out to parents before the enrolment form is shared.

Below you can see the clubs that are on offer each term (this will be added to as clubs are announced).

Spring Term 2023

Family Cooking Club (Mrs Chyla) - (Year 1) Day to be confirmed

Family Cooking is a 5-week club which enables parents/carers to develop their cooking skills, whilst educating the children about healthy eating in a fun, nurturing environment.

Cooking with children is a great way to educate them about good nutrition, planning and preparing meals, reading food labels and discovering ways of planning healthy nutritious family meals on a budget; plus it can encourage them to eat healthy foods.  Working together with your child can cement bonds, improve relationships and encourage a shared enjoyment of the new activity.
