Home Learning

The most important thing is to make time to listen to your child and have conversations with your child about everyday things such as a visit to the supermarket or a walk to the park.  During these conversations point out what you see, hear, smell and touch using all your senses.  Get your child to join in and this will help build their art of conversation and vocabulary.  Play games such as I spy on your travels too!

Reading is key to all learning and pupils who read regularly make better progress.  Make time to read daily with your child. Use the reading book your child brings home from school.  Also, ask your child questions about what they have read such as “How do you think Cinderella felt when she couldn't go to the ball?  How do we know this?

On school days ensure your child has plenty of sleep by going to bed early so they are ready for a full days learning. We also ask that you please support your child with any homework that they bring home, by making sure they have time and space to complete it; also by checking that they understand the instructions. Please ensure that your child has their PE kit, reading book and homework in school on the required days.

Most importantly, enjoy spending as much quality time with your child as possible and by giving them your full attention!
